Naturalist Programs & Special Events   September  2014   Thursday 4 10:00 AM  *THE WONDERS of OLD MAN’S CAVE - Meet the naturalist at the Naturalist Cabin for a short hike and discover some facts about the history of the area and the rock formations that are found throughout the park.   Thursday 11 7:00 PM *FULL MOON TOUR of ASH CAVE- The mystery of Ash Cave is special as far back as the last Ice Age and beyond.  Join the naturalist in the parking lot area to explore Ash Cave by the light of the full moon and learn this special history first hand.  Mother nature supplies the light…you supply the imagination. (Please no pets at the lantern tour)   Friday 12 10:00 AM *HIDDEN HOCKING: BROKEN ROCK FALLS  - Come and see something off the beaten path.  Join us for a hike through Old Man’s Cave to the little visited Broken Rock Falls and see what makes this place so special.  Meet the naturalist at the Naturalist Cabin.  2:00 PM HOCKING’S OWLS - Join the naturalist at the Naturalist Cabin for a closer look at Ohio’s winged nocturnal predators.   Saturday 13 10:00 AM *SCALAWAGS & RENEGADES - The Ohio Frontier was full of heroes and shady characters.  Meet at the Shelter House at the Rock House to hike and explore our local history.   Friday 19 10 AM *RIDGETOPS & HOLLERS” – Ever wonder about the difference between a ridgetop and a ‘holler’?  Join the naturalist at Ash Cave parking area to find out.     Saturday September 20, 2014 Hocking Hills Indian Run Join us for a challenging 5,10,20, 40 & 60 KM course For more info contact the Hocking Hills Tourism association at (740) 385-9706     Friday 26 2:00 PM CONKLE’S CREEP – Conkle’s Hollow state nature preserve is one of the most unique locations in the Hocking Hills.  Join the naturalist for a short hike to find out why.  Meet in the parking area.     Saturday 27 2:00 PM *CEDAR FALLS STROLL - Join the naturalist to explore Cedar Falls while we discover the unique natural & cultural history of this area of the park

Priscilla's Cottage

Priscilla's Cottage is almost complete. It is an absolutely beautiful Cottage. A
Cave and a Waterfall are behind the house. Huge Hemlock trees and rock faced cliffs line the hills. Deer and turkey are seen daily at the creek in front. A sheltered Hot-tub area, fire-pit and table are in back in the woods for your comfort and seclusion.
